Our Gardens at Rufflets
An essential part of your Rufflets experience
They provide a wonderful space for reflection and reconnection with nature. Spread over 10 glorious acres, they are a series of beautiful spaces, alive with birdsong and wildlife.
A barefoot sanctuary
We have a shady woodland with babbling burns and beautiful bridges for a game of Pooh Sticks as well as lush green lawns where you can walk, barefoot, and rediscover the childlike joy of grass tickling your toes.
Our hard-working kitchen garden is brimming with vegetables and herbs. Our Centenary Garden Project is currently underway, and will be completed in 2024 to mark Rufflets' hundredth year.
1924 - 2024 Centenary
Getting back to full bloom
We are busy with our Centenary Garden Project breathing new life into our formal gardens that were originally designed in 1924 by John Donald Mills, creator of the gardens at Balmoral.
The Gardener & The Chef
The origins of the flavours
An inspired partnership, The Gardener & The Chef passionately debate the alchemy of flavours - and whether this happens in the garden or the kitchen. Read their arguments and you decide.
Kitchen Garden
Going back to our roots
We are returning to the soil to preserve and build upon the garden's terroir and original fabric. The produce grown in our kitchen garden guides our seasonal menus and influences every dish.
